Beara Peninsula was our favorite part of Ireland.
Dursey Island, at the western tip, was probably our favorite part of the peninsula.
We took "Ireland's Only Cable Car," which connects the island to the mainland (July 23). |
The island is mostly abandoned. We left the few tourists behind by walking 3 miles from the cable car dock towards the end of the island, and saw only 2 local people the whole time. |

The tower we arrived at wasn't particularly exciting, but the hike was amazing.
